Our story
ROPCA began at the University of Southern Denmark as a bold idea: to create an automated system that could locate and perform ultrasound scans on the hand joints of patients with arthritic conditions. What started as a research project quickly grew into a mission to advance MSK ultrasound diagnostics.
In 2019, that mission became reality when Søren Andreasen Just, MD, specialist in rheumatology, and Professor Thiusius Rajeeth Savarimuthu, expert in healthcare robotics and artificial intelligence, founded ROPCA as a company. From day one, we set out to turn cutting-edge research into clinically validated tools that make a real difference in patient care.
In 2023, our CE-marked systems were installed in Danish clinics, including the first commercial installation. Germany followed in 2024, with further interest from additional institutions in Europe and U.S. soon after.
